Golflogix GPS-8 Roadtest Part 2

So onto the acid test of just how accurate is the Golflogix GPS? With my pedometer armed I took my first tee shot at hole 1 which I unfortuantely (true to form) hooked and ended up in a rough lie just missing a water hazard. I eventually found my ball and looked at the golflogix unit. It said the distance from my last shot was 178 metres, my pedometer said 178 metres! Pretty good really.. It also told me I had a water hazard 12 metres away, a bunker 53 meters away and how far it was to the front back and center of the green. I measured the distance to the water hazard and sure enough it was 12 metres. I am very impressed by the golflogix GPS accuracy.

So I just left the golflogix to do it's thing while I carried on hooking and slicing my way around the golf course. It somehow knows exactly which hole you are on at any time, I did't even have to touch the unit, it just worked! My 18 holes took me nearly 3 hours but the batteries seemed fine by the end of the 18th hole. I then decide my test was over and went back to the car, changed my shoes, packed my clubs away and got in the car to drive away. At this point I suddenly realized that I had left the golflogix on the roof of my car! I reversed up, got out of the car and saw my precious unit sitting on the car park. I noticed a few scuff marks but taht was all, switched it on and once again it locked up instantly. So, yes.. It is very robust!

In summary, I was more than impressed by the accuracy, robustness, clarity and ease of use that the golflogix offers. I will take it to every golf course from now on.
